Grab your thumb drive; we are about to take you for a ride. Even if you don't need one, it is always good practice to have a bootable Windows 10 USB drive for emergency purposes. Before we begin, you have to make sure your USB stick is formatted in FAT32 and has at least 8GB of available space. Don't worry; we take it to step by step for you and show you the basics. Let's begin.
Step 1: Format USB stick and verify size

Insert your USB stick to your windows computer and locate it on your File Explorer. Right-click on the drive for your USB and click on 'Format...". A small new window like the image shown here pops out, and you can check the capacity of your USB stick or thumb drive here. If you do see the capacity of your 8GB thumb drive as 7.53 GB or so, don't worry, this is the actual usable space in an 8GB USB stick. The File system should set to FAT32 as a default, it is not, select FAT32 from the dropdown menu. You can choose to label your bootable Windows 10 USB stick whatever you like, if you want to avoid confusion with other USB, label as 'win10 boot', tick the box next to 'Quick Format' and click 'Start'.

Step 3: Create your bootable Windows 10 USB

Launch the application, and you see a window pop up saying 'Getting a few things ready'. You may see this window again and if you do, take it as a loading screen and wait for it to finish.
Next, you see terms and conditions or license agreement page as shown. If you wish to take the time to read the entire thing, you probably should. Once you are done and have scrolled down to the bottom of the agreement, click 'Accept' to proceed.
When the software gives you two options, one is to upgrade your PC and the other to create an installation media, choose the latter and proceed by clicking 'Next'.
In this Window, the software is showing you the current operating system on your computer and has preset the settings for the installation media to be the same as the computer you are currently using. If you wish to make any changes, uncheck 'Use the recommended options for this PC'., Otherwise, proceed by clicking 'Next'.
Remember earlier when we asked you to name your bootable Windows 10 USB stick 'win10 boot' earlier? Make sure you highlight the option 'USB flash drive' in this step and click 'Next' to proceed.
Try to ignore the change from white to blue. Here locate the USB stick or thumb drive named 'win10 boot' or whatever name you have chosen for the USB stick we formatted earlier and click on 'Next' to proceed.
The software should begin the download of Windows 10 followed by installing the Windows 10 image into your USB stick. This process takes a while, so do not worry. As long as your USB stick format is FAT32, this part of the process should complete without any issues. Make sure you have a stable internet connection.
Once you see the final screen with the text 'Your USB flash drive is ready', you have successfully created your very own USB Windows 10 stick, from which you can reinstall or repair your computer when the need arises.
