3 energy efficient E27 LED light bulbs
Trouble choosing a standard E27 fitting light bulb? We guarantee a great purchase if you can find any of these models in your nearest hardware store.
If you wish to save money, be more sustainable and environmentally friendly, LED light bulbs are the way to go. In this article, we would like to show you three fantastic and efficient options for the standardized size lightbulb, E27 or the Edison standard.
When LED light bulbs first came to the market, they were not very stable nor were the light colours quite right. Many people missed the natural filament coloured light. Compact fluorescent bulbs, which have been in the market much longer, may not be as efficient, but when LED first came out, even the CFL bulbs could easily outlast them. Advances in LED lightbulb technology has changed everything; it is now the best choice of all the light bulb types. However, you need to know the correct brand to purchase these lights from, generic brands may be a few dollars cheaper, but you might end up spending more since the reliability of an LED bulb from such brands is rarely reliable.
1. Philips Hue White and Color LED light bulb
You will need to get the Hue Hub from Philips, and even by itself, this light bulb is not cheap. However, if you do not mind the initial cost, this light bulb is an IoT device, designed to last up to twenty-five thousand hours, which is three years of continuous non-stop use. On top of that, you can have a lot of fun programming and setting up this light bulb to perform a large number of functions. It only consumes nine watts of energy when in use and less than a tenth of a watt on standby mode. Sometimes you need white light, and others you need warm-white. The Philips Hue light bulb gives you the option of both, and for this model, you can choose any colour you like. You can have the entire house on green or blue or mix when guests come over. You can even put on a light show with the settings of the Philip Hue.
2. OSRAM E27 LED light bulb
Osram is a well-known german lighting manufacturing brand, and the best part of their products are not just the reliability, but the prices are very affordable. Their standard led bulb model, whether white or warm-white, uses around eight and a half watts of energy to product eight-hundred lumens of light.
German-engineered and very affordable, this light bulb is the most economical option on our list. The lifespan of this bulb is around fifteen-thousand hours, which might not be as long as the Philips Hue, but more cost-effective as an option. If your old lightbulb was a 60W incandescent light bulb, this is the perfect replacement.
3. Philips LEDClassic 7.5 - 70W LED light bulb
Yet another Philips product on our list, we know, but they make great LED E27 fittings, what else can we say?
While the Hue is perfect on the high-end, and the OSRAM is more economical, some want to see a filament light effect from their light bulb. There is just something very calming about looking at a filament, and for those individuals, Philips has made the LEDClassic series of light bulbs. These have the same lifespan as the OSRAM. Still, in terms of energy efficiency, it is slightly better, using only seven and a half-watt to simulate the light from a seventy watt incandescent light bulb. This light bulb delivers the same amount of light as the Hue, minus the fancy functions. For those of you who prefer to display your light bulbs naked, the Philips LEDClassic E27 is perfect and like the other two options be relatively easy to find. Of course, we are not saying there are no other great options out there in the market, but these light bulbs are from reliable brands with valid warranties, we do not want to see your money go to waste.
